2014 CCTV Piano and Violin Competition

To promote the popularity of classical music, new talent is needed. To that end, this competition is intended to discover new, talented individuals who will push the country’s arts education forward, and to create a wider platform for performers to exchange and showcase their skills. Announced by the central Government and approved by the national broadcasting authorities, the 2014 CCTV Piano and Violin Competition is now officially launched. Commissioned by the Competition Committee, Parsons Music will hold auditions in Tianjin, Shenyang, Wuhan, Xian, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
On the morning of the 3rd of August, auditions for the 2014 CCTV Piano and Violin Competition officially kicked off in Wuhan. WILH. STEINBERG pianos were chosen for the six city auditions and their melodious sounds and perfect timbre once again won the hearts and inspirations of both auditioners and parents alike. Over the two day event, each group of auditioners demonstrated their potential to the appreciating judges and directors of CCTV. The youngest to audition was only 5 years old and the most experienced, 75 years old. Despite the 70 year difference in age, their focus and commitment to their performances were identical. There was also a special heart warming performance by a group of “angels” who left everyone at the event in high spirits.
